Please Help. The Mod on my Skyline GTR has gone wrong

Hey guys, I've got a 2001 Nissan Skyline GTR-34. I've had it chipped a while ago and wanted to get more performance. I was recommended to port and polish the intake and exhaust. We found out they used abrasive material to do it like gritty sand. So I got with my friend who tunes BMWs and we decided to try it ourselves. We got a bag of sandblasting sand and hooked up into the intake and started the car. We had to hold the gas so it would run. He wanted to let the engine suck in the sand through the intake so it would port it out and then push it out the ehxaust so it would port the exhaust manifold.

I was worried that it might cause problems but he figured it'd be OK as long as we didn't make boost and it get sucked in the turbo. After running the car and letting it suck in sand we got about half way through a 25 lb bag. The check engine light was on and the engine was bucking and kicking and sounding really weird. We stopped and hooked the car back up normal and took off the sand supply. We tried to start it again and it was really hard. Once started it couldn't idle and kept making weird noises. We took it out and drove it and it started to make scraping and knocking noises.

Help! Can anyone tell me what to do! My buddy only does BMWs so he doesn't know much about Skylines.

25lb bag of sand through the intake and this did not sound any alarm bells.

How the hell has somone with your brainless head ever got their hands on a GTR.

Do you have any idea what an air filter is for?

Please tell me this is a joke

If this is not a joke I have finally discovered the dumbest person on the planet (the BMW mechanic) with you an extremely close second

Let me get this right, you tried to put 25lb of sand through the engine via the intake without even doing the fuel system first?

You should always put at least 10lbs of sand in the fuel tank, run the vehicle at high revs to ensure the whole fuel system is completely clean and gleaming inside to make sure it is possible to get enough fuel through the system to keep the engine running while the port cleaning process is carried out.

You may find it was fuel starvation that is the cause of the scraping and knocking noises.

But I am no expert and there could well be another reason for the cause of the problem.

None of the comments so far have been particularly helpful.

The car is still running but is making some very strange noises.

Is it ok to keep using it?
